On the windowsill,
wilted sunflower petals scatter,
I trace the screen's cross-hatching patterns,
as days limp by.
Fading pictures on walls of
long gone places.
“Too busy, but will visit someday,”
an extra chocolate milk from dinner,
a letter maybe...
Things to look forward to.
On the windowsill
I think I'll go somewhere
This is really good, I'm just so curious with where the setting of this character is.
Thank you. I was channeling the persona of a resident in an old person's home, but the feelings of being trapped and nostalgia can apply to multiple places.
oh I love it to me, it just reads well, a pattern of moderately connected thoughts. nothing intense, I've been reading too much intense stuff lately from other deviants X) this is a nice break. the other poster's words about deep and emotional strike me as intriguing because I don't draw that from here.
Thank you for your comment. Just a simple poem with some passing nostalgic thoughts we all can feel sometimes
Very nice. Very deep and emotional. It gives me a feeling of nostalgia.
A truly special piece, great job
what a very deep and unique flow...well written indeed
Very well written. I love the imagery and tone.
